Alder was one of those commissions where I had the wonderful opportunity to experiment. I came up with a whole new method of making dragon wings as well as sculpting and casting feet cheaply in a slightly flexible resin, so they can resist bumps and knocks better.

He has "mini long pile" fur which was brilliant to work with and I think works really nicely with the scale of the dolls. I will probably use it a lot more in future! I thought the seams might be a problem but as it turns out with some careful sewing and brushing they are nearly invisible.

As with all my dolls he is fully poseable! You can bend any part of him in any direction thanks to a wire "skeleton". The head is sculpted from fimo, the horns and spines from primo and the feet are flexible resin. I attach the fur to these parts with glue - simple as that! It's a glue that's very similar to fabri-tac, except it's the British equivalent.

Alder was tough but fun and I am actually very happy with how true I stayed to the reference - no compromises. c:

I am open for commissions but you will have to wait until approximately April next year. I can jump you to the top of the waiting list if you are willing to pay a small extra fee. If you send me a note with your design I can give you a quote and put you on the waiting list. I DO offer payment plans, where you pay in manageable chunks over a month or two. My prices range between £150-£300 + £20 P&P to America.

Thanks for looking!
