Balrog by Magweno Balrog by Magweno
This was a commission from Mimiru85 who wanted a Balrog from Lord of the Rings, except she wanted a baby fluffy version!

Does the amount of fun I had with this commission show?! He was AWESOME! I am so pleased with the glowy effects, and while the "fire" didn't turn out quite how I pictured it I'm still so happy.

Sculpting his face was a challenge but... I had a great time doing it.

I really want to keep him :'( Guess I'll just have to make myself one sometime. Oh I used my new airbrush on him too; What a perfect doll to use it on! :aww: Airbrushes are excellent, I don't know WHY I didn't get one earlier!

This is an art doll, so a plush with a wire armature and polymer clay head, hands and feet.

Thanks for looking!

In the second panel, you did the impossible... you made the Balrog look huggable! Well, huggable in an "I will throw you into a fiery chasm of fire and death and fire and more fire" kinda way. But huggable nonetheless! :squee:

All your dolls are so detailed, but I think this one is exceptionally so and really stands out. The texture on the sculpted parts looks amazing, especially on that face! I really like how you did the fire too.

I think my favorite part is though, how you took and absolutely terrifying creature and made it look so adorable, while still hanging onto to the features that made it so fierce. It's seriously awesome.

WOAH! He looks like he is really a piece of coal on fire when you blow on it! Amazing job! I could never keep my hands steady enough to get that effect. I am still contemplating on the fur pattern on my posable bunny dragon =P That really is the hardest part of it all.
