Porphyrios, The Shaman by Magweno Porphyrios, The Shaman by Magweno
This shaman lives high in the Alpine mountains weaving magic and practicing his skills as a warlock. His race is one of intriguing sexual dimorphism - his horns and crest are for impressing females. They prize themselves on their intricate mating rituals including elaborate dances and casting an aesthetic spell to impress their ward. Porphyrios is a young shaman and has yet to find his match in life but remains wise for his years.

---

Porphyrios has been sculpted in polymer clay over a sturdy wire armature covered with wadding, which means he is fully posable. His silky-soft fur is sewn on by hand and he has been carefully painted with acrylic paints. He has an impressive crest made from real coque and pigeon feathers. His eyes are icy blue fimo painted with interference medium and then varnished.

I made him last weekend as a really quick 'for fun' doll and got a chance to take some photos today, so here he is! His fur really is soft and my friend says he has that "picking up a cat" feeling round the middle. He's small, sweet, soft and for sale! Follow this link to see his listing.

He is quite small, measuring only 22cm from nose to tail, 14cm from toe to the tip of his crest and 7cm from shoulder to shoulder. (8.5x5.5x2.5" approx.)

Thanks for looking :aww:

That's good :]
hey, don't you think you'd get bored making the same doll again? o.O ... I've kind of been telling myself I couldn't make the same doll more than once.. I think I'd go a bit crazy! (mind you, saying that, I've already had 2 cat-bus requests... LOL!)

Yeah probably, I don't sketch the dolls or anything before I make them though so I'd probably set out to make something similar to Porphyrios and end up making something completely different.
Haha cat-bus, that's awesome, because of Tilly, right? Ahh Tilly was sooo cool. :D

Yeah I find the way you make dolls fascinating.. - very organic and I guess it means every one is unique! ... I didn't think I'd have the confidence to just sit down and make one without planning first but saying that I've recently started making a "scraplet" out of off-cuts .... I have NO idea how he'll turn out! :D lol
And yeah, how ever did you guess! ;) lol Tilly made peeps want cat-bus! I'll probably make one to auction and then one for my friend who's requested one... we'll see.
Tilly sustained battle damage the other day :( she took a dive off her shelf and broke the point off one of her claws! ... silly girl! lol

Oof, good thing it wasn't more than her claw. My dolls constantly try flying around my room, I'm so clumsy.. Good thing I have a carpet. Although I find the biggest culprit for broken claws is wooly jumpers :|
