Prince Erlend by Magweno Prince Erlend by Magweno
Available here: www.etsy.com/uk/listing/156981...

Prince Erlend is gentle and kind but doesn't particularly want to be king. He doesn't think he'd make a very good one, as he hates to upset anyone, and that includes the enemies of the kingdom. He'd much prefer to sit and play music or run in the fields, but his royal lineage comes through when he's faced with mud and dirt - he doesn't like to get his pelt wet or mucky.

He has a detachable blue felt collar that can be worn as a bracelet.

Prince Erlend is a large art doll measuring 25.5" from tail tip to nose when fully stretched out, approximately 8" from foot to shoulder and 14" from foot to tip of his antlers.

I used some more of my hoarded feathers on him, gorgeous rich, blue peacock and pheasant feathers! And I nearly didn't use this fur because it's almost too nice to use, but no point hoarding I guess - I have too many hoarded furs :XD: Incidentally that lovely honey fur works out at around 80 a meter, oocha. Possibly the most expensive I've ever bought :) It's Tissavel of course, only the best!!

He has a plastic armature, resin horns, sculpey face and paws and real feather details - he is about the size of a cat (expect longer of course!) and is lovely to pet.

Thanks for looking!

He is pretty convincing! He lives in our living room and guests always get a shock when they see him curled up on top of the piano. He's about the same size as a small cat so he really does look real from the corners of your eyes hehe

Oh, I love how he came out! The colors are so muted and natural-looking, and I love how he's almost canine anatomically, but has some sort of... ferret or something in him. The feathers are certainly my favorite part, as they add a very regal touch. I really just love when you make pheasant-feather manes in general! The tiny bit of peacock adds a lovely hint of blue, as well. It's a gorgeous color, standing out against the warm light brown. I also really love the antlers, because I really love antlers in general and just about any mammal could wear them and still look fabulous. I like his gentle personality as well, and he does look really soft~!

They're chicken feathers, cockerel hackle. I saw too many people using pheasant feathers and I think they look a liiiittle bit overused. But I will always love peacock feathers! I was going to add another neutral colour but the blue, even though it's vibrant, it's -natural- so it matched quite nicely. :)

Oh, cockerel? In the description you put 'pheasant'. :3 You'll want to fix that, then. Either way, it's still beautiful!

Yep, blue looks wonderful.

Ah, so this is the golden fur that you were talking about with your Quazecotyl! (I can't spell Mayan names fyi.) I simply adore that cute gray-hound like face and the tuft of extra long fur on his tail. He looks so soft! And his 'mane' of feathers is the perfect edition. The calm expression and loving eyes also help to give the story some weight.
Another in the long list of creations I simply adore from you. <3 Keep up the amazing designs that inspire and delight!

The expensive faux-furs are really worth it! It feels great to work with material like that and it gives more life to the doll. Brilliant!!

Oh, he's lovely. I love the ivy-leaved toadflax you tucked into his  crest. It really suits him! As for the fur, I understand about the hoarding! But it's wonderful on him, makes him look so soft and tactile.

ah that's what it is!! It grows ALL OVER the walls around here but I never bothered to ID it. It gets ripped off mostly because we don't want it destroying the walls and wood, but I have a big pile of it growing at the base of one of my bay trees :)

I've always thought it was pretty. The flowers grow out towards the sun until they're fertilised, and then they head toward the dark, which is what drives the seeds into the stonework. Clever, eh? I've tried growing it, and it's hard if the conditions aren't right.  I'm glad you keep some of it safe. :)

Oh man I love plant/deer creatures, I'm always worried I'll get them totally wrong though. The antlers are cast tho so it's easy enough to make another pair and make more antlered creatures! And I just got some lovely mossy green fur... hmm, hmm!!

If you made some or one along thoes lines I'd start putting away a bit of money to buy it, although it would likely be gone by the time I get the amount. I was considering commissioning a character of mine from you once though. XD Its hard at the moment with me being out of work to afford anything thats not food or living expenses...the local area is so short of employment to. One day I'll learn to make something my self, I think, I tried once but it looked so, like a four year old had done it I was terrified to try again.
