Vindur is a young gryphon intent on discovering the mysteries of the moon. Asleep during the day, he spends his nights up in the clouds, dipping and diving through that strange glow. One day he might fly there, probably why he's grown such a thick mane - protection from cosmic cold.
Vindur has been made the same way I make all my dolls: I sculpt onto a wire armature using fimo then once he is baked I wrap the armature with polyester wadding. I then measure, cut and hand-sew a fur body around the wadding, glue on any extra features, paint and then varnish. The whole process takes about three days and also means that all dolls are fully posable.
He's particularly dear to me because not only do I love running my fingers through his soft, deep fur, I also made him posable wings out of the most beautiful feathers. I'm super pleased with how his face came out, really chuffed with how well he stands and simply don't want to part with him.
He will be for sale on Etsy soon - I just wanted to share this sneak peak with you all. He is up for sale now!
