Ready for Lift Off

One of my favourite things to do is to browse flytying websites I don't fish so it could be perceived as strange but they have the most incredible things for sale! Like entire starling skins. How could I pass that up? I bought it a year ago and keep passing it when I rake through my feathers box, so I finally took some time to use parts of it to make this wee guy.

He's a caprine, cervine, sturnine mix and I don't know if you've ever stared at a starling but their feathers have the most incredible purple/green iridescent sheen to them so I made his feet, hooves and horns iridescent green too. I even tried it on his furry back a bit but it didn't work so well. In the right light he sparkles!

His wings fold like real bird wings and work a lot better than the tiny swallow feathers I used on the swallow gryphon. His entire body is posable apart from the hard clay legs and head. You could bend his neck, back, tail, legs, arms, wings, whatever you like! 'Til your heart's content.
